KM #3 – Papirfabrikken Multi-Cache

DK: Klostermølle serien består at 8 caches som hver især fortæller en lille del om stedets imponerende historie. Det hele er placeret midt i et smukt og storslået naturområde.
EN: The Klostermølle – Monastery mill (KM) series contains 8 caches that each tell a small part of the impressive history at the place. It is all placed in the middle of very nice mature.

Turbinehuset/The turbine house

I 1873 udvides Klostermølle med et nyt turbinehus og produktionen udvides til også at omfatte et træsliberi hvor der produceres papirmasse til papirproduktion. Det nye turbinehus har to turbiner som med en kort kanal tilsluttes Klosterkanalen. På dette tidspunkt opføres også Tørrelanden til tørring af pap- og træmassen.

I 1890 indgås en 10-årig aftale med De Forenede Papirfabrikker om årlig levering af 500 ton sleben papirmasse mod ikke selv at starte papirproduktion. Aftalen blev forlænget frem til 1921 hvor der blev leveret omkring 750 ton. Træmassen sejles over Mossø til Alken hvor det med tog transpores videre til forarbejdning.

Fra omkring 1930 producerer Klostermølle selv pap af træmassen. I perioden fra 1950 til 1974 var produktionen af pap på sit højeste med op til 850 ton om året.

Fra 1917 produceres der tillige jævnstrøm som leverede lys til natarbejde i produktion og til belysning i kontorer og beboelse. Først i 1972 blev Klostermølle tilsluttet det almindele elnet med vekselstrøm.

Der var papirproduktion frem til 1974 hvor turbinehuset og store dele af produktionslokalerne nedbrændte og ikke stod til at redde. Det nuværende turbinehus er opført at Skov – og Naturstyrelsen i 1982 for at beskytte de to turbiner som kan ses ind gennem vinduerne.

Cachen er placeret efter aftale med Skov- og Naturstyrelsens medarbejdere på Klostermølle. I den våde årstid hvor der er meget vand i åen kan Gummistøvler være påkrævet.

Klostermølle er der P-plads for såvel biler som kano er der toiletter, mulighed for vand, madpakkehus og lejrplads for kano farer. Cachen en er oplagt på kanoturen med evt. overnatning ved Klostermølle.

In 1873 a new turbine house is build next side the Monastery mill and the production is expanded with wood grinding of wood pulp for paper production. The new turbine house has two turbines that with a short canal ware connected to the Monastery canal. At this time, the dry barn ware built for drying paper and wood pulp.

In 1890, a 10 year agreement was made with the United Paper Factories on yearly delivery of 500 ton wood pulp against that they did not start paper production them self. The agreement was extended up to 1921 for delivery of 750 ton. The wood pulp was shipped across Mossø to Alken where it was taken by train to further processing.

From around 1930, the company at Klostermølle produces its own paper out of the wood pulp. In the period from 1950 to 1974, the production was at its highest with up to 850 ton a year.

With a dynamo installed in 1917, the produced DC current is used for lightning up production for night work. As late as in 1972 Klostermølle ware connected to the public AC network.

The paperproduction continued up to 1974 where the turbine house and large part of the production facilities burned to the ground and ware not possible to safe. The current turbine house ware build in 1982 to protect the two turbines – that are visible through the windows.

The cache is placed in agreement with the staff at Klostermølle.
At Klostermølle there is parking for both cars and Canoes, toilets, water taps for drinking water, shelter for packed lunch and camp for the canoe people.
