Geocache Description:

This beach is almost always in the list of Top Ten Beaches in the world ...

... and there is a Geocache here!!

The beach is just shy of a mile long and in the morning many of the locals walk several miles from "rock to rock" at the ends of the beach for exercise. Many also walk the beach while chest deep in the water (great exercise and good for sore joints). Our personal exercise routine is to walk three miles and then swim along the buoy line about a half mile every other day. Since the water temperature varies only between 80 to 84 degrees, it is comfortable to swim in year round. If you are a swimmer, bring some swim goggles - we frequently see turtles and rays usually out near the buoy line.

After about 9 AM the beach starts to fill with cruise ship passengers, but even on days with 6 ships in port there is always empty beach to be had by walking just a bit towards the south end. For those of you who enjoy it, the "people watching" can be world class 😉.

The cache is a small size with a log book and pencil. Please use stealth when retrieving the cache so it isn't removed by non-cachers, and use the hint so you can grab it quickly. It's lid is now on a "leash" - remove the log to sign at a distance then replace. Please be gentle with it and return as found. Thanks!!

Secret: If you drive in before 8:00 AM there is no fee! But if you don't get there early the fee is WELL worth it. The beach is raked (by hand) daily and there are frequently weddings on the beach. Water activities, a full bar, gift shop and restaurant are also available.

Secret 2: Locals respond to a "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon" at the beginning of a conversation MUCH better than the more typical "Excuse Me" that Americans typically use. Try it - it really is amazing!
