Listed on the National Historic Places list, it's the third fort built in Detroit from the 17th century. The site was built in 1845 and contained barracks, officers quarters, hospital, shops, recreation building, commissary, guard house, garage and stables. It is haunted by soldiers. Visitors have claimed paranormal occurrences like seeing and hearing doors opening and closing as well as unexplainable sounds of foot steps. Today, it is part of the Detroit Recreation Department. Visitors can seek the help of Metro Paranormal Investigations while there and hear them explain the unexplainable. The historic fort is featured in the Haunted Historic Fort Wayne Tour and has been featured on several TV shows.
