De Veenborgh
De boerderij uit 1860 waar deze cache voor ligt is in 2014 in handen gekomen van kunstenaar Freek van Dijk. De renovatie van de vervallen boerderij voert hij voor het grootste gedeelte zelf uit. Oorspronkelijk was de boerderij 14 meter langer, maar het voorste gedeelte was dusdanig verzwakt dat is besloten om dit te slopen. De nieuwe voorgevel heeft een grote toegangspoort gekregen met twee zware houten openslaande deuren. Het aangezicht van de boerderij is in ere hersteld door de bouw van een wolfskap waarboven het (zelf ontworpen) “Uilenbord” prijkt. Het betekend de gekantelde eeuwigheid op vleugels gedragen.
Als de renovatie klaar is bevindt het woonhuis zich aan de achterzijde van de boerderij. De voorzijde is ingericht als workshop-ruimte en atelier voor de glaskunst. Ook zal er aan de noordkant een Bed & Breakfast ingericht worden, in wat oorspronkelijk de paardenstallen waren.
De stacaravan aan de linkerkant van de oprijlaan zal te zijner tijd plaats maken voor een lounge-zithoek met toilet als rustpunt voor fietsers.
Tussen het woonhuis en het atelier is de galerie van te vinden, die toegankelijk is vanaf de zuidkant van de boerderij (ingang tegenover het houthok en de kippenren). Als de eigenaar thuis is, ben je van harte welkom om in de galerie om de mooie glaskunstwerken te bewonderen. De werken zijn soms een combinatie van glas met metaal of hout.

The Veenborgh
This farmhouse from 1860, was bought in 2014 by artist Freek van Dijk. The renovation of the dilapidated farm is performed mostly by himself. Originally, the farm was 14 meters longer, but the front part was in such a bad condition that it was decided to demolish it. In the new façade of the building, a large gateway with two heavy wooden doors was created. The farm face has been restored by the construction of a clipped gable. On top of the farmhouse a self-designed roof decoration can be found. This decoration represents “the tilted eternity, carried on wings”.
When the renovation is finished, the dwelling house will be at the back of the farm. The front is designed as a workshop for glass art. On the north side of the farm, a Bed & Breakfast will be constructed in the stables.
The mobile home on the left side of the driveway will be removed and replaced by a lounge area with a toilet and will function as a resting point for cyclists.
Between the house and the workshop, the gallery can be found. It is accessible from the south side of the house (entrance opposite the woodshed and henhouse). If the artist is at home, you are more than welcome to visit the gallery to admire the beautiful glass art. The artworks are sometimes a combination of glass with metal or wood.
