Trka na prstenac je viteška igra koja se održava trećeg vikenda u kolovozu u Barbanu, koja je zadnjih godina postala zaštitnim znakom tog mjesta, te jedna od najpoznatijih ljetnih priredbi u Istri.
Prvi zapisi o trci na prstenac potječu iz 1696. godine, kada ju je organizirala mletačka obitelj Loredan (pod čijim je vlasništvu tada bio Barban) kako bi u vrijeme sajamskih priredbi privukli što više posjetitelja. Natjecatelji su većinom bili plemići i građani iz istarskih gradova koji su posjedovali konja i vitešku opremu.
Trka je, na temelju povijesnih zapisa, ponovno obnovljena 1976. godine.
gra je slična sinjskoj alci, te je njen cilj unutar 12 sekunda u punom galopu preći stazu dugačku 150 metara te kopljem pogoditi prstenac. Prstenac se sastoji od dva koncentrična kruga međusobno spojena tako da između čine četiri polja. Pogodak u sredinu donosi tri boda, iznad sredine dva, ispod jedan i sa strane po pola boda. Pogodak i broj bodova potvrđuju suci, pred koje se jahač s prstencem na koplju mora vratiti čim se zaustavi. Svi natjecatelji stazu prolaze tri puta, te na kraju onaj sa najviše bodova postaje slavodobitnik.
Od 1995. održava se i prednatjecanje nazvano Trka na viticu.

Tilting at the ring

The "Tilting at the Ring" at the "Gradišće" lane in Barban is held every year the third weekend in August. 
To discover the charm and the beauty of that ancient cavalry game meant to study deep into history and reach as far as the year 1696, in which the most ancient entry about the Race is preserved. 
The competitors - those Barban knights - in three races and in less than 12 seconds - must "overcome" a track 150 meters long and hit the ring with their lance. The ring consists of two concentric circles connected so as to form four sections. The hit in the centre gives three points, above the centre two, under the centre one and on sides half point. The competitor who achieves the highest number of points in the three races becomes the winner of the Race.

The race of ring lasts three days and is great fun!

Ringstechen

Der Kampf um den Ring wurde in Barban das erste Mal im Jahr 1696 abgehalten. Als Franjo Loredan zu Zeiten der örtlichen Messe den ritterlichen Wettkampf im Treffen des Ringes organisierte, hatte er nie geglaubt, daß sich die Geschichte genau deshalb an ihn erinnern wird. Sie wurden nach 280 Jahren erneuert, 1976, als in Barban wieder ritterliche Wettkämpfe begonnen wurden. Der Wettkampf findet jedes Jahr am vorletzten Wochenende im August statt. Im Pferderennen, in traditionellen Trachten, im Rasseln der Lanzen und der alten Rüstungen, im Gefolge welches die Reiter begleitet, werden die Besucher die schönsten Seiten der Geschichte herauslesen, ein Buch der Unvergesslichkeit seiner Art.
