Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a number of music instrument related caches placed on the southern section of the R540 road in Gauteng province, South Africa. Go find it and enjoy the countryside!


The harp is a stringed musical instrument which has a number of individual strings running at an angle to its soundboard which are plucked with the fingers. Harps have been known since antiquity in Asia, Africa and Europe, dating back at least as early as 3500 BC.

The well-known South African harpist Kobie du Plessis toured South America with the SABC junior orchestra. She is also well-known in the Netherlands, Germany and Austria.
