A trumpet is a musical instrument commonly used in orchestral and jazz ensembles. Trumpet-like instruments have historically been used as signalling devices in battle or hunting. They began to be used as musical instruments in the late 14th or early 15th century.

Hugh Masekela, South African musician mastered the trumpet and went on to play  in South Africa’s first youth orchestra the Huddleston jazz band.
