Geocache Description:

This geocache takes you to the side of state highway 1 to enjoy a pretty urban park with a water theme. Easy access for puchchairs.

The Putaruru Waterpark was officially opened on Saturday 20 April , 2002 by the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Helen Clark.

This urban park pays homage to the beautiful local Te Waihou Spring and is a lovely spot to take a break and stretch the legs. Putaruru is the source for almost 60% of New Zealand's bottled water so come and fill a bottle free from one of the drinking fountains in the park. There is lots of interesting information about the local area at the cache site.

The cache you are looking for is a magnetic nano so make sure you remember to bring your own writing implement
