Quick Park and Grab on a fairly quiet road. Lots of room to park on the side of the road. Small black camouflaged cache. BYOP
In 1830, Mrs. Sarah Roadhouse died and was buried on this property(her headstone is found on the cairn). In 1845, her husband, William Roadhouse Jr., donated this half acre of land and a small log chapel was built on the property. Regular church services were held for local families. In 1870 a larger church was built and it served the Wesleyan Methodist congregation for 34 years. No remnants of either structure remain. If you look around, you will note that this is the highest ridge in the area. At times the Toronto skyline is visible from the road out in front of the cemetery. Rain water falling on this property goes into two different watersheds, the Lake Ontario watershed via the Humber River and the Georgian Bay watershed via the Holland River through Lake Simcoe. Take some time and enjoy the area.
