Located on No. 2 Guangyuan Road in Shanghai, Hengshan Park is 10,855 square meters in size and was originally built by French Municipal Council in August, 1925. The low-lying river channel on the north of the park was filled with 5000 tons of river mud taken from Xu Jia Hui River during the reconstruction. Then, a large meadow and a pavilion were built on the filled river channel with many trees. In May, 1926, the park was only opened to foreign visitors. Since it lay on Beidang Road (now Hengshan Road), it was called Beidang Park. It was renamed Hengshan Park in October, 1943.
Its landscaping remains in the original style with three century-old camphor trees. Two are planted on the west side of the gate, while one is in the woods in the east corner. The cache sits next two two of the old trees and one young'un. There is a large meadow in the centre of the park with an area of 1000 square meters. Tall arbor trees, meadows, bushes and flowers form harmonious and delightful scenery.
Some cachers will remember the old Hengshan Park cache; this is it's reincarnation after the park was closed for nearly a year. The position of the cache is slightly different, but the style is the same, so you can get a new cache without working too hard.
Beware the Shanghai map offset that comes and goes. Waypoint on the map is not always the actual cache location.
UPDATE 20230405: The orginal cache N 31° 12.125' E 121° 26.254' is gone. I don't think it is a safe place for a cache any more. So you could view the Two old camphor trees here.
Now the cache has been moved to . I think it is difficul to find. In order to reduce the search time, you could refer to the instruction below：
1. Move to N 31 12.174 E 121 26.232 or try to find the place where I took the photo of spoiler1.
2. Look at the same direction as I took the photo, then walk to the back side of the tree. You would find a gap allow you to enter to the GZ.
3. Watch to the spoiler2 if you want more help. The cache is in that photo. Don't mess with the cables or white pipes. The cache has nothing to do with those things.
