Geocache Description:

Over 3000 years of history!

This area, known as Twyn yr Oerfel, is a record of over 3000 years of history. The cache is situated midway between two Bronze Age round barrows, just some of the many prehistoric remains to be found in these hills. There are also more recent remains to be seen, from the coal industry that dominated South Wales in the 19th and 20th centuries. On a fine day, there are some wonderful views down into the Sirhowy Valley from here.
