Ashippun Lake
Ashippun Lake is located in the central part of the township of Oconomowoc. It is approximately 84 acres in size with a depth of 40 feet. It has a mean depth of 22 feet. Fish species include Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, and Panfish. Boats can be launched from the Ashippun Lake Boat Launch, part of the Waukesha County Park System on McMahon Road, just east of STH 67. There is no fee to launch.
There is a 30 mph speed limit. From sunset to 8am the following morning it is 10 mph.
Water skiing, tubing, or aquaplaning must be done in a counter clockwise direction around the lake.
No motorboat with an internal combustion engine is allowed in the "west end channel". This is where the lake meets the Ashippun River. Electric motors are allowed.
No automobiles are allowed on the lake (ice) at any time.
Other motorized vehicles are not allowed on the ice from 1:30am to 6am.
