Mount Subasio rises up in isolation from the Apennines.
Its characteristic round shape and the presence of the Basilica of Assisi, which streches out along its slopes,make it an easily identifiable landmark on the Umbrian Plain.Around the mountain are really hidden 3 treasures of villages, a visit worthwhile ,so stroll along and enjoy the peacefull atmosphere around you.
Collepino
Il piccolo paese si trova ad un'altezza di 600 m s.l.m., sul fianco meridionale del monte Subasio: da esso si diparte la strada panoramica che collega Spello ad Assisi passando per la sommità del monte ed un'altra strada che, seguendo il fianco della montagna sempre verso Assisi, passa per Armenzano. La valle solcata dal torrente Chiona si apre ai piedi del borgo, abitato da 49 persone (secondo i dati ufficiali del censimento Istat 2001). Il territorio di Collepino è totalmente inserito all'interno del parco regionale del monte Subasio.
