Geocache Description:

Come park at the Cuckhold's Cove Trailhead, but instead of Cuckhold's Cove, come off of the well beaten path to this traditional, challenging trail.  After an easy climb along (past the old cache "Boating Safety"), the climb kicks up.  Watch for the blue rope to assist you along the hardest section - we kid you not.  Your reward:  An incredible view of the North East coastline.  On a nice day, you can see past Robin Hood Bay towards Sugar Loaf to the north and Cape Spear to the South East.  There's also an official survey peg for the astute hiker to find.  And, most importantly, there's a secret stowaway cache, overlooking the coastline, ready to jump in to action and defend our territory.  The North East Coast Defender is here.  Come find it, admire it, but don't take a picture of it and give away its secret to the enemy (or other cachers who have not braved the trail for the smile on their map).  Sign the log, admire the view some more, and take your time coming back down safely again.
