Alone in the Desert (Tongariro) Traditional Cache

One of the few places along the Desert Road where you can pull off safely and admire the views of the mountains. It is a popular rest stop for muggles so extreme stealth will be required here. Cache is within 2m of the fence and not near the road.

We often stop at this rest stop to let faster traffic go past and to admire the views on a fine day. Often wondered why there was not a cache placed here. Now I know. It was actually really hard to find a hiding spot that would be accessible but still remain hidden from muggles, and avoiding that dreadful flax hunt. Now a bison tube hanging in the koromiko(hebe) Don't try and remove the container from its current resting spot. Unscrew the lid and remove the logbook. Happy hunting.
