Birkenhead Domain and Eskdale Bush Scenic Reserve have native trees, nikau palms and ti-trees. The sounds of the bush and the stream give you the illusion of remoteness (just maybe not in this spot as you can clearly here vehicles using the nearby roads). The main track is in good repair, and the minor tracks have loose stones and roots. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Expect mud in winter! Be prepared for dog walkers (dogs on-leash).
The cache is located a few metres (plus a couple more maybe) off the main track. It is a micro attached to something which in turn is hidden in something else which as you have most likely figured out by now is also hidden.
