Geocache Description:

`This series has been put together for you to follow the trail of the Bootleggers “Rum Runners” in the Crowsnest Pass.`

Silent Policeman: The six foot concrete bollard at this site is a replica of a “Silent Policeman” that was situated at the main intersection of the Hamlet of Hillcrest Mines at 4^th and Main Street. Silent Policeman were erected in the middle of major intersections in a community to control traffic speed and positioning. Visit the Heritage Kiosk in Hillcrest to pick up a Walking Tour Brochure of Hillcrest which shows the original location of a Silent Policeman. Also across the road to the west is the Hillcrest Mine Disaster Memorial and Park which commemorates the Hillcrest Mine Disaster – Canada’s worst mining disaster which resulted in the deaths of 189 men.

You can obtain a Passport at 7701 18th Ave, Coleman, Alberta - A National Historic Site. Passports with info will be available at 9:00 AM on July 30, 2016 The first 100 people to return the stamp filled Passport will receive a Commemorative Coin.
