Takapu Ridge (3) – The Gates (Wellington) Traditional Cache

A Short sharp walk up the Takapu Ridge track to the intersection with the Dress Circle Track. Start at the new Park Entrance off Takapu Rd that will be in action for the next 5 years while the Transmission Gully road is constructed.

As always go prepared for the elements, and remember to stay on the track and leave all gates as you found them.

Lots of gates to choice from here and a good spot to stop and enjoy the view to the west over Porirua and Titahi Bay with Mana Island in the distance. Not too far to the top now

Please NOTE that you must sign the log book for each individual cacher (photo logs are unacceptable), Finds logged not corresponding with the logbook may be deleted. Please take some time before leaving to ensure that the cache is re-hidden exactly as you found it. Please bring your own pen.

Note: Farmed areas of the park are closed for lambing and calving each year from the 1 August to 19 October. The cache is inaccessible during this period of time.
