The nearby RM ORS #18: Hancock Pass, Alpine Tunnel didn't include a visit to Tomichi Pass, but the journey and views are worth adding this extension to your Hancock Pass Adventure.

Cache Information
This cache is on the West side of Tomichi Pass. To get the full experience of this cache, it is recommended that you travel to this cache from Hancock Pass, over Tomichi Pass, and find this on your descent back to civilization. You can approach from the West, but you'll miss Tomichi Pass, or if you choose to continue, you'll run Tomichi Pass downhill (uphill has the right of way). The cache location offers an area where you are able to pull a few vehicles out of the trail path and take a break. The views aren't bad here either.
Trail Information
Tomichi Pass essentially connect Hancock Pass to Whitepine. The trail itself does not present many obstacles, but is a narrow shelf road that will be extremely difficult to navigate if you encounter rain, snow, or oncoming traffic. Experience drivers should be OK as long as they are cautious. We would not recommend this trail during inclement weather.
