Bay Trail – Webb Dock link completed
5 November 2015. A new 700m linear park abutting Webb Dock in Fishermans Bend is now open, with a new path alongside the dock.
The project is part of the Port of Melbourne’s $1.6 billion upgrade to international container handling standard.
The existing back-of-kerb path is now a bike-only path and a new meandering concrete 3m wide shared path is integrated into the new landscaped linear park with overhead lighting provided.
Benches, barbeques and drinking fountains can also be found in the new park.

They are not wrong about the benches etc. in 600 meters of bike trail there are no less than six rest areas (must be for very hot days!).
This was just too much of a temptation for us - one needs a cache otherwise they won't ever be used!
Although it is on the bike path, you can park at the given parking co-ordinates and walk. If you're not used to walking, there are a few rest stops for you so you can break it up into four shorter walks.
