An operating ferry crosses the Current River at Akers in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. To cross the ferry, the motorist rings a bell. Someone in the nearby store answers the call. If you are lucky, either the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation ferryman will answer your call. The ride is very unique!
