This cache is part of what will be a mini Geistown Borough Geo-Trail. The purpose of this trail will get cachers to experience different parts of this one square mile community. Incorporated in 1930, Geistown is loved by its residents and maintains its status as a quiet and small residential community. It is bordered by Richland and Stonycreek Townships, and carved in half by Route 56 (Scalp Avenue). Approximately 2,000 people live in Geistown, the CO being one of them.
Commemorative coins are in production for the completion of this trail. To be eligible, create a bookmark list when you find them and then send the CO a message with an address to send the coin. Once the finds are verified a coin will be sent to you. If you do not feel comfortable providing a mailing address, I can leave the coins at the borough office for pickup. Let me know what works for you!
The Boise Street playground was the focus of a major restoration project in 2015. The playground was becoming overrun with weeds and over growth and the equipment was not in a good state. Geistown Borough Council recgonized this and its members volunteered with members of the community and staff to restore the playground to its former glory. It is used by youths of all ages, and plays host to a picnic or two under the pavilion. Bring the kids, and enjoy this quiet and secluded place.
You are looking for a micro. Please use stealth when searching, there are muggles a plenty. You may park in front of the playground. Unfortunately the playground itself is not dog friendly, however where the cache is, you will be fine. For this one you will not have to enter the playground. No need to look inside of anything. You may park in front of the playground, the signs are so the neighbors won't take up the playground parking.
Congratulations to the FTF: LT Sliverfox
