Attention all active cachers, newbies and "used to be" cachers, it's time for some geocaching with other cachers in the area. We will meet on Wednesday August 24th, 2016 at 6:30 pm at the posted coordinates (it is the parking lot next to the monument pathways behind the zoo). This event is open to all geocachers.
Your mission, if you choose to take it, is to meet other geocachers while walking the pathway. Along the way we will stop to find some of the caches that have already been hidden as well as log a few trackables. If you have already found all the caches along the pathway, don't worry, there will be some new ones coming your way for this event.
If you are new to geocaching, this is a great opportunity to learn about this hobby and get some help, advice and experience from some of the more seasoned cachers. Please post a "will attend" note, if you plan to come.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Please arrive promptly at 6:30 pm so we can get strolling. You are not required to stay the entire time.
6:30 to 7:00 pm Informal meet and greet while we distribute a list of geocaches (with their coordinates) that we will be searching for, swap travelbugs and sign the event log. Use this time to put the list in your GPS device. We will be available to assist those unfamiliar with loading caches into their GPS devices. For those of you already familiar with loading geocaches, feel free to download all the published geocaches along the pathway into your GPS device prior to the event. There will be a few new ones for you to load when you arrive. We would greatly appreciate all "seasoned" geocachers assistance helping newer geocachers load caches.
Optional: 7:00 to 8:30ish we will be walking along the pathway geocaching, getting to know one another, answering questions and swapping stories. Bring sturdy walking shoes and plenty of water. Happy Hunting!
