Abandoned Series #1 - Franklinton Post Office Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kujawaz: The container has been replaced a few times now. I received a message regarding the neighbor becoming increasingly frustrated with geocachers combing around the area. Unfortunately due to both of those factors, this historical spot will be archived. :(

Geocache Description:

Built in early 1807, this is the oldest building in the county that stands on its original foundation. David Deardruff built this two-story log cabin and resided here, using a section of the home to handle the mail. Although its registered in the National Register of Historical Places, it sadly appears to be in disrepair.

The container only has room for the log file,so no swag stashing. Keep looking around GZ and use some geosense. Hopefully things will become more obvious then.

No bushwacking required, although unfortunately there is a scattering of weeds, broken glass, and trash. The area is relatively quiet, other than occasional pedestrians. So use good muggle sense depending.

The container isn't on the wrong side of the No Trespassing fence, so no need to do anything foolish. Should come to being pretty much a park and grab, while admiring a historical site that's over 200 years old :)
