There are two routes to this Cache, it is suggested as a round trip to fully enjoy the beauty of the countryside.
If departing from Cawood you can walk down the river Ouse accessed by the Church and along the flood defences, once past the parting chain gate a steep decent along the edge of the field reveals a winding path through a peaceful meadow by a pond. The Cache is located here under the trees with a log book and some very old coins.
The ings regulary flood in winter protecting the village, but this does mean there are wonderful little hidden ponds and dykes throught the landscape. This area has been set aside and although it is a fairly new path, life has flourished everywhere. Upon leaving the trail you can find your way back to the village down a country lane across the farmland.
Becasue this area floods frequently in winter the Cache could be removed at this time to prevent it being lost, it is best enjoyed in the 3 other seasons.
