LET OP: Het is NIET NODIG om op het terrein van de camping te komen. De cache is ALLEEN VANAF BUITEN het terrein toegankelijk!In het dal van het beekje de Bertogne was hier vlakbij vroeger een meertje wat gebruikt werd door boeren in de omgeving om hun vee te laten drinken. Het stond bekend als "de drinkput van het kalf" of in oud dialect "tro do way". Zo'n 25 jaar geleden is de put gedempt om een kampeerveld te maken (geen idee of er ooit een kalf in is verdronken). In plaats van vee staan er nu dus tenten en caravans. De omgeving is nog steeds even mooi met afwisselend landerijen en bossen waarin hout verbouwd wordt. Wandelen en biken is zeer populair en als je geluk hebt kom je op de steile hellingen houthakkers tegen die soms zelfs nog met prachtige Belgische paarden de omgehakte bomen transporteren omdat sommige plaatsen te steil zijn om met een tractor te bereiken.
PLEASE NOT: You do NOT NEED to enter the campsite. The cache is ONLY REACHABLE if you stay OUTSIDE the campsite. In the valley of the little brook the Bertogne close by there used to be a small lake that was used by farmers in the neighbourhood to let their cattle drink. It was known as "the watering pit of the calf" or in the old dialect "tro do way". About 25 years ago the pit was filled to create a campsite (I do not know if a calf ever drowned here). So in stead of catlle you now find tents and caravans here. The surrounding area is till very beautiful with farms and woodland where forresting takes place. Hiking and biking is very populair and if you are lucky on steep hills you may encounter woodcutters employing beautiful big Belgium horses to transport felled trees as some places can not be reached with modern machinery.
