La Torre di Portella o Passo di Portella è una fortificazione composta da due torri costruita nel luogo in cui, nel 315 A.C., i Sanniti furono sconfitti dai dittatori Quinto Fabio e Quinto Aulio.
E’ risalente al XVI secolo e segnava, fino al 1860, il confine del Regno di Napoli. Da questa porta se si andava a sud si gridava “Viva il Re”, se si andava a nord “Viva il Papa”.
Fino al 2 gennaio 1929 segnava il confine tra Lazio e Campania, cambiato in questa data con la nascita della provincia di Littoria (ora Latina) e spostato sul Fiume Garigliano.

“Torre di Portella or “Passo di Portella” is a fortification composed from two towers.
In this place in 315 B.C. the Sannitis were defeated by the Roman dictators Quinto Fabio and Quinto Aulio.
It was built it the XVI Century and, up to 1860, it was the border of the Kingdom of Naples.
From this border, if you went to south you shouted "Long life to the King", if you went to north you shouted "Long life to the Pope."
Up to January 2nd 1929 it marked the border between Lazio and Campania, in this date was founded the province of Littoria (now called Latina) and the border of Lazio moved to River Garigliano.
