The 'Deep Creek' runs thought the town. It hosts large River Red Gum trees (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) where lots of birds, wombats and kookaburras live. Take a walk down the bank to explore the fish, frogs, birds, wombats and lizards. Only recently the creek has run dry on 2 occasions in summer, the first time in more than 40 years.
The town is so quiet it doesn’t have mains water or mains gas. That is what keeps this town quaint and loveable. The town has a primary school, post box and a town hall - that's all. A quiet little town at the bottom of the valley. So take the time in this secluded spot to absorb the creek, country and peacefulness. ![smiley smiley](https://www.geocaching.com/static/js/CKEditor/4.4.0/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
At the published co-ordinates you will find a monument to remember a fallen solder (no need to cross the fence to get the required information). The year that he was killed = A B C D; The contingent number = E; He was aged F G years. GZ is found at S 37° 23. B (E + F) (E + G) E 144° 53. (B - F - G) (E + D) (D + G).
The track into GZ can be slippery when wet to drive on so sometimes it may be better to park at the monument/school and walk the 1 minute to the location. Listen to the birds along the creek. Don't fall down the creek bank.
Congrats to"Riddell" for FTF @ 5997 finds. A small change to GZ co-ords now (25/09/2016) to allow for a more permanent placement after the flood waters subsided.
