Barnston Island is an unincorporated island located in the Fraser River. Access to the island is by a free ferry at the east end of 104th Ave. in Surrey. Islanders welcome visitors to enjoy their island, however, there is NO PUBLIC PARKING (of any kind) on the island. The best way to enjoy the island is by bicycle or walking. Just park in the parking lot at the mainland side of the ferry.
Dyke Road offers a wonderful 8 km loop around the island and access to 2 Metro Vancouver Parks. The entire island is flat and presents no hills. An ideal locale for a leisurely family ride.
