Geocache Description:

"Buildings of the past"

This is a series of caches that was started by Team_Macdonald and Rayzr2 to remember old buildings that once had a purpose in their day and are now either, abandoned and forgotten or no longer used as they used to be.

Winchmore District Church is over 100 years old and in its day was a busy wee church for the district.

Sadly now the numbers attending the church have dwindled down and they have now closed the doors. I met one of the church board members who showed us through the church and it was great to see it inside and imagine it in its prime and glory, all the chattering voices on a sunday morning before church started and all the stories this place could tell.

It is a beautiful old church and a place to not be forgotten.
