7.15. Archive or unarchive a geocache
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Hawthorndene is a sleepy little suburb, tucked away in a valley that's actually not so far from the city. Aside from the hills charm, a quirky feature of Hawthorndene is the network of footpaths that cut through the tangle of streets, enabling walkers to take shortcuts and speed their journey. Add the overgrown nature of the vegetation (it does rain a bit up here), and the lack of maintenance/grooming, and suddenly many of these shortcuts are hidden, and hence secret.

This secret path lay hidden from geodad for years. Thanks to geomum and her morning walks its discovery has been shared in the family, and it provides a handy shortcut when walking to the park or the train station. Key to it's secrecy is the massive gum tree obscuring the entrance at the eastern (lower) end, the overgrown nature of the path itself, and the stairs at the western (upper) end which are invisible from the adjacent road. The last cache we hid (GC6P0C1) was wonderfully simple to find (congrats to weredunn4 for FTF!), so this time we've tried to be a bit trickier - time will tell how well we did!!!
