The Whitney Warren cache is located along the Allamuchy Pond Trail which is located along the grounds of Rutherfurd Hall, one of the last extant large country estates in New Jersey.


Entrance to Rutherfurd Mansion

Rutherfurd Hall is designated as a National and New Jersey State Historic Landmark. Famed architect, Whitney Warren, a cousin of the Vanderbilts, designed the 18,000 square foot Tudor country home in Allamuchy, NJ in 1904. Warren also designed Grand Central Station in New York City as Warren and Wetmore Architects (1903-1911). Frederick Law Olmsted & Sons designed the landscape plan and the plantings for the site.


Rutherfurd Hall Mansion

The Rutherfurd - Stuyvesant geocache series give an in depth history of this important and distinguished american family and the gilded age in NJ. There are two locations showcased in the geotrail. The Stuyvesant Mansion and Rutherfurd Mansion located within Tranquility Farms massive estate was divided by the construction on interstate 80.
