The Gothic-style farmhouse cache is part of The Rutherfurd - Stuyvesant Geocache Series which give an in depth history of this important and distinguished american family and the gilded age in New Jersey.
These two nearby locations, The Stuyvesant Mansion and Rutherfurd Mansion were located within Tranquility Farms massive 5000 acre estate which was divided by the construction on interstate 80. Those individual titled cache pages will give a complete history.
As you follow the carriage path along the Stuyvesant-Rutherfurd property you’ll find remnants of stone walls, barn, shed outbuilding ruins before reaching the Gothic-style farmhouse, sitting neglected to time. Now, sadly called the Profanity House, or graffiti House.
The profanity / Graffiti house, named as such because its covered in quite graphic swear words. The graffiti covers ever inch of the houses, floor to ceiling. Please be warned! This is definitely not the place to bring your kids.
We are not advocating entering or Trespassing into the house! The geocache is outside and away from the structure.
