We expect many new geocachers at this event, so you veterans make them feel welcome and please help answer any questions they might have.
The Georgia GeoCaching Association will have a table and be conducting geocaching 101 for beginners. Don't be shy, here's the opportunity to ask those questions you've always wanted to.
Pick up your passports and Real Woodbury Zombie GeoQuest limited SWAG (while supplies last) at the Meriwether County Visitor Welcome Center booth. They will also have water and cold beverages.
Plans are to have a couple food trucks on site for those that want a quick lunch.
The beginning of the event will be a meet and greet for smoozing with friends and asking questions and general geocaching fish tales.
After everyone gets settled in a bit, several rules and announcements will be made before we send everyone off to enjoy their geoquest adventure.
The biggest and most important rule is to be respectful of the areas you will be exploring, ESPECIALLY the cemeteries !
I can not express this enough and you will hear this many many times.
You will be seeking 12 geocaches that have been hidden in Woodbury and surrounding areas within Meriwether County which showcase some interesting historic areas, photo ops, and filming locations from TWD tv show.
Each geocache contains a stamp you will find to stamp your passport. Once your passport is complete you will return it to the Meriwether County Visitors Welcome Center booth for validation and be rewarded a trackable alluminum travel tag (with unique icon) We apologize up front, but you will not be able to keep your passport. It must be turned in to obtain your trackable.
please put this event on your watch list or post your "will attend" soon so you don't miss any updates or announcements in the coming weeks.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!
