My younger kids have recently taken to rollerblading. In my days it was roller skating. Nearby is the local rollerblading or rollerskating rink. The rink is also used for in-line rollerblade hockey. The local mens team, The Northland Stingrays won first place at the National champs in 2014.
The rink is open for social skating on Friday nights from 6-8.30pm during the school term. It is also open Sunday afternoons 2-4pm during school terms in the winter. During school holidays it sometimes opens during the weekdays but this is dependent on volunteers to run the sessions. Check the Bay Sport website for times if you are interested. You can bring your own skates or hire them. Safety gear is also provided.
There is a sports ground nearby too so bring along a soccer ball and have a run around.
