Geocache Description:

Simple cache located in abandoned castle of Borsh. If you want to visit lonely castle with lovely view of beach and mountains go just ahead and climb on top of small hill above Borsh village.

Kalaja e Borshit / Castle of Borsh



It is known as a fortified habitation in the 4th century before Christ. In medieval times it is known as Sopoti Castle. It occcupies 5 hectares of land surrounded by huge stone blocks 3 meters wide. On 1258 it is mentioned in written documents together with plenty of dwellings built out of its walls. On 1417 this castle was taken by the Ottomans to go under a deep restoration on the 18th century. On that time a mosque was built near its entry.

Cache: Look for room with nice three walls and spectacular view on sky:-). DON´T FALL IN HOLE ON THE FLOOR.

If you are hungry or hot after succesfull log and enjoying this nice spot, park your car in center of village and visit Ujevara restaurant with cooling waterfalls of Borsh stream with and shade of old oaks.<</p>
