International Geocaching Day Celebration

BYOP (bring your own picnic) Meet & Greet

Whether you’ve found 10 caches or 10,000, this event is for you! New to the game? New to the area? Visiting from out of town? Join us as we meet up at Pavilion #1 at North Park in Alpharetta. This event is FREE!

Bring your picnic blanket or lawn chairs along with your picnic basket full of lunch (BYOP), I will provide desserts. Festivities will begin at 11:00am, the pavilion is rented through 3:00pm. There will be supplies to create your own geocache container as well as directions on placing it if you wish. There will also be a travel bug swap for those interested. **To participate you must bring at least one traveler.** I will bring my personal trackable collection to be discovered and I would love to see others!

Come share geocaching adventure stories with friends, old and new. If you are a newbie you can learn tips and hints from the caching veterans.

For those who've logged most of the local smileys, there will be a couple of fresh ones in the area in honor of the occasion.

  • Cacher Bingo
  • Prescription bottle toss
  • Alpharetta stacking caches
  • ROT13 decyphering
  • Log roll

Please post a ‘Will Attend’ log with the number coming if you are planning on joining us so I can plan accordingly. Georgia weather is unpredictable but the event will be held rain or shine (we can all gather under the Pavilion if it gets too bad). This is my first time organizing a GeoEvent so I really hope to see you there!

Please note park rules state that alcohol, tobacco and tobacco products are not allowed in the park. Pets are allowed but must be on leashes.
