Geocache Description:

GRASSY FIELDS

ABOUT THE SERIES

Overview

*PLEASE ENSURE ALL CACHE CONTAINERS ARE REPLACED AS FOUND, AND PLEASE BE GENTLE*

This is a series of 15 caches on a route starting in my home village of Kentisbeare, then heading out through Stowford Water and towards Sainthill. The series can also be combined with other caches in the village and it can be combined with the old CRK loop to give a total walk of 6.5 miles and 37 caches. I often walk these roads in the late afternoon with my pony, so you may see me around! In case you're wondering, the background image is a sign somewhere in the village. Bonus Brownie Points if you can locate it!

Route

This route is around 2.5 miles long and the passes through fields and along country lanes and bridlepaths. Parts of the route become very muddy after heavy rain in the winter. Due to stiles and fields, the route is NOT suitable for pushchairs.. Wellies are advised after heavy rain. The series is suitable for children and families, however please take care while on the road section between caches 3 and 5 in particular.

Parking

We are very lucky in Kentisbeare to have a very spacious and free car park outside the village hall, and it's perfect for cachers ;) Both this series and the CRK2 loop are designed to start from there.

IMPORTANT NOTES

All caches in the series are unique: please take care of the containers, replace as found and do not leave spoilers in your logs
A couple of caches require more thought to sign the log once you have found the cache container. You need to sign the log to claim a find.

This Cache

To get to this cache from the car park, go down the path between the pub and the church, and walk up the hill to the trailhead waypoint, where you will turn left and walk along the footpath. Alternatively you can walk out of the car park at the top end, then keep going down the main road until you get to the trailhead.

At GZ you will find a lovely view. Straight ahead is Blackborough. The lakes you can see at the bottom of the hill are part of the fishery at Millhayes.

To get to the next cache follow the path downhill.

Happy Caching!
