This cache is placed at the original entrance to the Historic Honeysuckle Lodge Estate. F. Lewis Clark and his wife Winifred completed construction on the lodge in 1910. This 15000 square foot home sitting on 1400 acres was a copy of the summer palace owned by Kaiser Wilhelm. The property sat between Prairie and Hayden Avenues. Bordering Government Way it extended 5 miles along Hayden Lake's south Shore. Although it has changed hands many times, a quick drive from the cache will take you to The Clark House, part of the original estate. In 1978 The Clark House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Congratulations to Martin 5 for FTF. 10 minutes after publishing? You couldn't find it in 9? lol. Honorable mention to BirdTrekker.
