So, you have walked through the forests on your first day of the hike. Saw all the trees, even some Redwoods?
And decended to the sea level, walking the seashore, braving the chains, passing the beautiful orange rocks, and survived the
B back to the hut?

Today you came down to the sea again. And if you are up to it, to face your biggest challenge. Follow the footsteps of the forgotten one's, inhabitants of the dark. You wont see them, they are afraid of the light. But you will see their tracks in the mud, crawling into the smallest spaces.
So follow the hand drawn map, and see if you can find the treasure hidden at X.
Nothing to fear, unless you run out of light....

This cache is not easy. It will test your abilities, especially your fear of the dark. Best to make very sure about your light source (torch), and under no circumstances should you enter alone. Some pictures attached to give an idea what to expect.

At the entrance you will decent steeply towards the flat cave floor. From there you will have to walk roughly 50 steps towards the back, where you will find a opening going to the right. It is only about 1.2 meters high, so you need to bend low to walk through here. It is the only low place on your journey today. Once through here, about 25 steps right, untill you reach the narrow spot along the left wall. Climb over the boulders here, to enter the next cavern. At this spot, another opening is seen to your left. Go in here, and cross over the shallow water pool. Watch out for the slippery mud. To the back of this room, up the slope with large rocks, the cache is hidden against the left wall, behind a wooden plank with yellow paint on.

THE BEST WAY TO REACH THIS CACHE, IS WHEN YOU HIKE THE HARKERVILLE 2 DAY COASTAL TRAIL.
This two-day, 24 kilometre hike, starts and ends at the Harkerville Forest Station. It passes through some prime examples of high-forest, crosses sections of coastal fynbos and takes the hiker along some breathtaking natural scenery along a cliff-coast. Bookings for the two huts, the Harkerville and the Sinclair, should be made with the Forestry Regional Office in Knysna, Tel: (044) 3825863.
