Geocache Description:

The Deadly Ducks race to the Venice Canals for a fun event!

Deadly Ducks Travel Bug racers must be dropped off at an event 8/20 & this is THE place since “the canals” have real ducks so travelers will feel right at home.

This event also celebrates Intl Geocaching Day (earning you a souvenir) & marks the sixth monthly meeting of the West LA Geocachers.

This will be a potluck event and take place at 425 Linnie Canal, Court D, Venice, CA. 90291, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

If you can, please bring food or drink to share and mention what you will be bringing in your “Will Attend” logs. Children under 18 are welcome with parents.

Free street parking is available along Venice Boulevard. See the waypoint for the nearest paid public parking lot. We can accommodate a limited number of parking spots at the home. Let me know if you need a spot due to a disability or unloading many/large items, and I’ll do my best to prioritize needs.

The canals are a bit tricky to figure out, so let me know if you have questions. I would take Washington to Dell (one way), go over 3 bridges and turn right at the alley by the park. If you are parking at the lot between N. and S. Venice, then walk to Dell and turn left just before the park. The house is a gray 2-story home, Court D.

We are grateful to Helen and Bert for lending us their home. Guests are welcomed to stay past noon. Bring a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard, if you want to play in the canals. The location is also four blocks to the ocean, so you may want to go there afterwards.

Don't forgot to bring your travel bugs! Make sure you search caches near your home to see if there are any ducks you can grab and bring. Quack!
