Geocache Description:

The 10th Annual Geocaching Event is on Saturday September 17th, 2016 in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Registration starts at the Picnic Shelter in Fort Wilkins at 9:00 AM. People may begin their hunting at this time. Make sure to stop for lunch at the luncheon at 2:30 PM after you finish your geocaching at 2:00 PM. A Recreation Passport is required to enter the park, there are no other fees for the whole day.


Fort Wilkins Historic State Park with the cooperation of the Fort Wilkins Natural History Association will be holding its 10th Annual Geocaching Event during the fall color season on the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula, in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Please call (906) 289-4215 for more information. The 10th Annual Geocaching Event is on Saturday September 17th, 2016.

Geocaching Registration starts at 9:00 AM at Fort Wilkins Picnic Shelter in the Day Use Area of the Park. Geocachers will be able to find several temporary caches of varying difficulty that are placed at historical, geological and natural significant sites. Following the event there will be a bonfire with a hot dog luncheon at 2:30 PM in the Picnic Shelter near the Fort parking lot; the luncheon is open to anyone in the park.

Geocaching will end at 2:00 PM with a campfire and social time to tell stories and have a drawing for prizes from our local businesses. Geocachers will receive a ticket at the times of registration for the drawing.
