Twelve years… lets make it big in every way!
This event was put together year after year by Bobby Wilson along with her Family WilsonExplorers3 and the City of Roseville Parks and Recreation. The Geocaching program in Roseville started with funding from Healthier Macomb Fitness Council, Macomb County, by providing the funds for GPS units for the city. Each year the event consisted of, starting with a Geocaching 101 course, on to new cache placements in the area and finally a grand picnic, this year will be on that same successful course.
This event is now proudly continued by the local cachers here in Roseville who provide new caches each year in the Roseville Parks for your caching enjoyment.
The informal Geocaching 101 Class will Start @ 11am and will run until about Noon.
The Event will start @ 12 noon and run until 3pm.
Registration will be at noon. At about 2:00 we will be handing out cache sheets with the new caches. Please remember to leave enough room in your GPS units for the new caches that will be placed for the event.
We will be having a Pot Luck lunch, so be sure to bring your favorite passing dish!
We will be providing the Hot Dogs and Buns and Condiments.
When posting your "Will Attend", please include the number of people in your group that will be attending, and the passing dish you might bring. This will help others to plan what dishes they might bring. Be sure to bring your own non alcoholic drinks with you, we will provide Cool-Aid and water.
The event starts with an informal Geocaching 101 class at 11:00am.
The idea here will be to get new cachers started in the game and also to have a question and answer time for those that maybe newer to caching and need a little hand understanding finding and placing geocaches. The class will also have some of the experienced cachers on hand to take out any of the new cachers on their first hunts.
If you are an experienced cacher and would like to give assistance to a "newbie" please note that in your "Will Attend" log.
You will want to bring your folding chairs as the event is generally well attended.
If you can bring prize donations for our raffle table they will be greatly appreciated.
Be sure to bookmark this event as updates will be coming!
