Most of the trails are well groomed and hard packed making a bike a great way to get to the caches in the area. A Michigan Passport is required for entry to the park and may be purchased there. Keep in mind during the hunting season to be aware of hunters in the area. Hunting is allowed from September 15th until April 1st each year.
This Revolution War-era fort is where cannons blasted and rifles fired. Many have taken pictures in the area like the Guard house where orbs and cold spots show up in the photos. Those who have visited also say they have felt the presence of apparitions and seen them at the North Sally Port Entrance Gate and Wall and on the Rifle Range Trail.
The fort was completed after 1796. Today the property is part of Mackinac Island State Park. The property has been restored.
