This is one of several official Stretch Points in the Chobe National Park where you are allowed out of your vehicle. Park fees are payable.
This Stretch Point is up on a rise with a great view out over the Chobe Floodplains - the Stretch Point tree gives a lot of good shade and so a great spot to take a break on a hot day and to enjoy watching the wildlife out on the Floodplains. There is usually a colony of Carmine Bee-eaters just in front of this cache when they migrate into the area - a very beautiful sight. NB - the Monkey Orange fruit is lovely to eat - BUT it contains high levels of Strychnine when unripe. The Strychnine breaks down as the fruit ripens and becomes edible - but beware - Strychinine is highly toxic and can be fatal if consumed.
