Geocache Description:

Congratulations Tony and Patricia FTF

The community of Ginger in eastern Rains County was first settled in the late 1870s and became a station for the railroad that once ran through the area.  This community, near a large deposit of clay, was named for the color of the clay.  A branch of the Johnson-Fraser Brick Company was opened here, and Ginger brick was used when the courthouse was built in Emory.  Ginger bricks were manufactured here until the 1940s.  The clay by this time was scarce. This once thriving community not only had the brink plant, they also had a post office, a school, two stores, and several churches.  Ginger is now just a rural community with no businesses.

This cache is an easy park and grab.  Bring your own pen as this cache contains a log only.
