This Cache-

The first Methodist/Episcopalian church west of the Missouri River. It was dedicated in November of 1885. Reverend E. L. Hood was the pastor of the Congregational Church, and Reverend Cooke was the Methodist Minister. This Church served the congregants until it was town down in the 1950's. This plaque is there to mark the spot of this church in Gladstone. The Congregational Church was nearby as well, and was bought by the local Catholics later for $500, and would become the first St. Thomas Church.

This Church is mentioned in the entry on Old Red Old Ten talking trail, which can be listened to by dialing 701-566-5566 EXT: 802 "First Roller Mill"
