Geocache Description:

“QUACK” “QUACK” “QUACK”

All you dashing ducks, come waddle in to this pond to complete your task of being at a geocaching event on INTERNATIONAL GEOCACHNG DAY !

Everyone is welcome to attend, with or without an HQ DUCK DASH travel bug, that has been racing to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first travel bug released by Jeremy Irish…001 Envy.

We will be here for 4 hours, from 10am to 2pm, to give most anyone a chance to stop by and sign our lily pad log as attending!

Look for our POND set up near a picnic table, and all types of TRACKABLES are welcome to come relax in it! There will be an HQ DUCK DASH TB for EVERYONE to be able to log, so their stats show the “7 Deadly Ducks” icon even if they did not participate or come into contact with one of these travelers until this Event.

Take a TB with you if you’d like…but please log trackable items taken as soon as possible.  Many DUCK DASH TB’s will probably change their mission at the end of this race, so check with their owner to see what’s next for their ducks!

Bring a lunch, it’s a scenic place to eat.  There is also some street parking for those who do not have a pass.  Bring a camp chair and hang out to talk with fellow cachers, or “cache and dash!”  There are several caches in the area, and I am hoping to have a new one in the area ready to find too!

It would be a great walk-on trip from Pt. Townsend to Coupeville on the ferry!

This part of Ft Casey State Park is a little area just east of the ferry landing that has a boat launch, picnic tables, restrooms, and lots of parking (*pass required).  Please keep the center area of parking available for vehicles with boat trailers to use.

Divers use this area to go out into the water and dive along the jetty and travel southwest to Driftwood bottle field.  Even further southwest is Driftwood Island County Park.  This area of Keystone harbor was once used as a garbage dump long ago, which now invites divers interested in looking for old bottles and other items.

U.S. Navy jets from nearby Naval Air Station Whidbey Island may fly over the area conducting training missions at various times during the day too.

*Ft Casey State Park is equipped with an automated pay station for visitors to purchase a one-day or annual Discover Pass.
