Geocache Description:

Underwater cache at the sunken islands.

Indian folk lore says:Many years ago, bartow, papoose and Kalispell islands were connected as one large island. Indian tribes would migrate to priest lake to fish, hunt, and celebrate the warm weather. Many pow wows were held but the most memorable were held in this location. Due to the lake water level rising, the pow wow grounds became submerged....but on a calm day in the deep waters, you can still spot the ancestors favorite bon fire spot. Bring a snorkel and enjoy the fish as you pay tribute to our lake ancestors and the beauty of the western sunken islands.
