Geocache Description:

Another easy PNG along Hwy 35 for your caching pleasure. Let's hope this cache will not burn up in flames.

The phlogiston (floh-jis-ton, -tuh n) theory is an obsolete scientific theory that postulated a fire-like element called phlogiston is contained within combustible bodies and released during combustion. The name comes from the Ancient Greek φλογιστόν phlogiston (phlogistón burning), up from φλόξ (phlox). phlóx flame. Phlogiston, in early chemical theory, hypothetical principle of fire, of which every combustible substance was in part composed. In this view, the phenomena of burning, now called oxidation, was caused by the liberation of phlogiston, with the dephlogisticated substance left as an ash or residue.
